Our Mission: To act as a facilitator of local business platforms driving future growth and initiatives to create opportunities for sustainable economic development.
Connecting Southern Gold Coast was established with the specific objective to drive business growth and sustain a vibrant business environment within the Southern Gold Coast region. In order to achieve that, we focus on three pillars of economic development – Tourism, Business Support, and Festivals and Events.
We have a unique mix of industries that make up the Southern Gold Coast business community, including construction, tourism, transport, health and education. There are several key employers based on the Southern Gold Coast, however there is also a higher proportion of small and micro businesses in the region compared to the rest of the Gold Coast. To support these businesses, CSGC regularly undertakes and promotes business development activities; lobbies local and state government for business initiatives within our region; and links businesses to resources within council’s Economic Development division and the State Government’s State Development and Small Business departments. Some of the recent business development activities recently undertaken by Connecting Southern Gold Coast include:
CSGC funds and promotes many events across the Southern Gold Coast, and has a key role in running several major annual Festivals that create a significant impact for the whole city – including Bleach* Festival and Cooly Rocks On. Events and festivals are the lifeblood of the Southern Gold Coast, and attract visitors from all across the city, state, country, and even overseas to take part in the celebration of our unique environment, lifestyle and community.
