After 9 ½ years as CEO of Surfing Australia, Andrew Stark is leaving the organisation to take up a new role on the leadership team of the World Surf League.
Starting at Surfing Australia in 2009, the organisation has evolved from 7 staff and less than $1 million turnover to a 28 member strong team and more than $7 million per annum under his leadership.
As the newly appointed General Manager at WSL, Andrew will lead the day to day operations of the organisation in the Australia and Oceania Region as well as the development of the first WSL High Performance Training Centre, leveraging the Kelly Slater Wave Pool Technology.
"After nearly a decade at the helm, Andrew has truly transformed the landscape of Australian surfing, leaving the sport at its strongest position from junior levels all the way through to the pros,” said CSGC CEO, Peter Doggett.
"From the entire team at Connecting Southern Gold Coast, we wish Andrew well in his future endeavours and thank him for the solid foundation he has built for the surfing community and the industry, particularly here on the Southern Gold Coast.”
