Nominations for the 2018 McPherson Community Awards are now open, celebrating the outstanding contributions residents make to our local community.
Federal Member for McPherson, the Hon Karen Andrews MP, says the awards highlight the invaluable support volunteers give to local organisations and clubs.
“Australians are renowned for their dedicated service to an eclectic variety of community groups, events, and local activities, and the Southern Gold Coast is no exception,” Mrs Andrews said.
“If you know someone who you believe is deserving of this recognition I encourage you to nominate them for a McPherson Community Achiever Award.”
There are three categories open for nomination:
- McPherson Community Achiever
- Surf Lifesaving Community Achiever
- Young Community Achiever (under 25 years of age)
The awards are great recognition for the many ‘unsung’ heroes of our community who give years of service to their chosen club or organisation.
“It always makes me feel so proud to represent people like this in our nation’s Parliament. Each year I look forward to seeing the new nominations and discover even more great Southern Gold Coast stories.” Mrs Andrews said.
Nominations close on the 30th March 2018 and award recipients will be recognised at a special morning tea.
