Former Division 14 Councillor, Chris Robbins, has written her first book since retiring from public life. The fictional crime novel, Drowning in a Sea of Duplicity, was launched at Surf World Gold Coast in April.
With a background in the arts, it’s no surprise the former councillor has taken up writing – a much favoured pastime in her newfound retirement.
While Chris insists the characters and setting are all entirely fictional, the book explores themes that feel close to home, including fake news, the prevalence of spin, the impact of developers and developer contributions and other influences on the decision making process in local politics.
